Hi, I’m Erin — a registered marriage & family therapist, depth psychotherapist, and grief counselor located in the Bay Area and practicing remotely throughout California.

As a psychotherapist, I believe grief and loss to be the undercurrent of life, ever present if even momentarily out of focus. For me, therapy is not about quick solutions or fixing what is "broken," but rather tending to what is deeply human in each of us — often those universal tensions, or contradictions, which lie in the delicate balance between our need for intimacy and autonomy, freedom and responsibility, meaning amidst uncertainty, and aliveness within the constraints of our own mortality, vulnerability, and limitations.

My theoretical approach integrates relational psychoanalytic, existential, and feminist frameworks, with sensitivity to the role of the unconscious and the significance of larger systems, culture, power, and oppression on both intrapsychic and interpersonal wellbeing.

At the heart of my practice, I carry an unwavering commitment to uplifting the agency, dignity, and autonomy of every client.

I received my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in 2023, following several years of paraprofessional experience as a crisis counselor with BRAVE Bay Area (fka BAWAR) and the Mental Health Association of San Francisco, where I provided trauma-informed care to survivors of sexual violence and disaster relief throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a marriage & family therapist, my clinical background has encompassed a variety of settings — including medical milieus and hospice, community mental health clinics, and private practice. Over the years, I have worked with numerous individuals, couples, and families on a wide array of issues, most notably around matters of aging, illness, death anxiety, grief, and loss.

In addition to my virtual practice, I also provide low cost services at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley, where I engage in ongoing clinical consultation and most recently completed a two-year post-graduate certification in advanced psychodynamic technique.
