Couples therapy, like 1:1 work, can provide a safe and supportive container to address relationship challenges by going deeper and exploring the underlying dynamics which may be hindering closeness, understanding, and aliveness.
In our work together, I will be curious about the intersection of your respective histories, identities, attachment styles, and the protective mechanisms, or defenses, activated between you so as to help illuminate and shift what interpersonal patterns keep you feeling stuck, frustrated, and disconnected.
This often looks like a blend of both directive and more process oriented interventions, with an emphasis on strengthening what is already working and developing tools and strategies where more support is needed.
